DHARMA:

Part of the teaching about reincarnation is based on the concept, that the individual in each incarnation has a certain task or mission to carry out, through which the soul can best develop itself. This task or commitment is called "dharma" in Sanskrit.

A large part of this task consists in accepting one’s life conditions, neither in resignation nor in frustration, but happily and courageously, which is actually a reference to the actual meaning of the word itself: right action or correct way of living, in accordance with one’s lot in life.

The Dharma Sutras are Hindu and Buddhist books on ethic. Other meanings of this word (which by the Buddhist is also called "dhamma") are "truth", "teaching" or "justice".
